Back in May we shared something new from UK dub artist SBTRKT, the tune was
reported to be part of a forthcoming ep and today we have yet another new tune
in the form of “Gloss.” I can’t say with certainty that this tune will be
official released as part of the ep but it doesn’t really matter, what does is
we got new music from the man and you can hear it now below….
SBTRKT
is back with his first completely new material since last year’s breakout LP. The
producer is said to be in the studio working on a new ep and has offered “Gamelena”
as a taste of what we might expect to hear in the future.
SBTRKT's "Surely" was available as a bonus track on a separate 7" released only with the limited edition of the masked producer's self-titled debut LP and is NOT a new single as many other sites have mistakenly announced. For those that didn't manage to get a hold of it you can finally listen to it below in all its massive glory:
Radiohead's Thom Yorke has remixed SBTRKT’s “Hold On” under the mysterious moniker Sisi Bakbak. The Sisi BakBak remix comes as a B-side on the single version of SBTRKT's original "Hold On", available digitally on February 21 and on May 8 as a limited-edition 12" through XL. Enjoy the tune and accompanying visuals below…
SBTRKT fans woke up to a neat surprise today in the form of a previously unreleased track on the masked producer's soundcloud page. You can stream the melodic and melancholy "Atomic Peace" below, which features a sample from Mum's "Flow not so fast mountain radio". It's the dreamiest tune we've heard from SBTRKT, yet it dates back to 2009 so we wouldn't exactly call it a new direction for the artist.
SBTRKT is about to drop his next single for “Hold On,” off of his 2011 debut album, the b-side to the release is the jittery, 8-bit “Ride To Freedom” available to listen to below….
Machinedrum consists of one half of Red Cup favorite project of this year: Sepalcure. Machinedrum track "U Don't Survive" has been reworked by the man behind another favorite record of this year: SBTRKT. Needless to say the results sounds as good as they....sound. Listen below:
Masked producer SBTRKT released his self-titled debut album earlier this year and as is usually the case, the Japanese version of the LP featured a couple of extra songs that weren't included in the North American or European versions. Check out "Fried Eggs" below…

We've been keeping you up to date with the previous releases of the Radiohead album King of the Limbs 12"remix series with highlights including Modeselektor, Shed, Lone and Four Tet. Now we bring you the final installment, before all the remixes are released on digital formats with the above cover, featuring such Red Cup favorites as Jamie xx and SBTRKT, as well as Anstam. This time Jamie departs from his characteristic sound and gives "Bloom" an ambient bordeline-balearic twist. Anstam delivers a choppy click remix to "Separator", while our favorite, the SBTRKT remix of "Lotus Flower", is a dubstep anthem in its own right. Listen to all three remixes below:
The time has finally come for Red Cup to take a 2 week break and do some much needed Greek island hopping. Times are tough - sprits and budgets are low, yet when the sun and the volume are high everything seems better. Therefore, we couldn't leave without something special for those who have stopped by and supported Red Cup thus far.
Here it is, our first (in a series?) of summer mixtapes intended to keep you company at the beach, on the way to the beach, on the way home from the beach etc. In the true spirit of our blog, the mix crosses all genres of electronic music but is cohesive in its summeriness. We hope this will hold you over until we get back.
