Mark Van Hoen - "The Revenant Diary" LP

We're happy to announce that the legendary Mark Van Hoen will be releasing his his fifth solo album "The Revenant Diary" this time on Editions Mego records.  The founding member of Seefeel, mastermind behind Locust and Slowdive collaborator knows how to make noise.  His distinct sound is based around his mastery of tone, detail, harmonics and melody...a celebration of the potential of electronic music and an accomplishment in sound scultping.  According to the press release the basis of this album was recorded on "4-track tape, using a minimal set-up, reminiscent of his first early '80s musical adventures as a young teenager."  Aside from fans of the aforementioned projects, this is also music for fans of Boards of Canada, Bibio, The Field, The Orb etc.  As you can tell by the preview below this is bound to be one of the albums to look out for in 2012. We can't wait.

Marc Miroir - "Black Amber"

Released on Bondage Records, Marc Miroir's "Black Amber" is a minimal techno track with a variety of influences. With cacophonous distorted brass swipes, spacey effects and a single note arpeggio bassline that would fit well in an old school electro track Mark Miroir creates a unique soundscape that takes the genre to another direction. Deadbeat - "Drawn And Quartered" remixed by Scuba and Efdemin

Red Cup highly recommends the "Drawn And Quartered Remixed" EP where Scuba under his SCB monicker takes on "First Quarter" while Efdemin tweaks "Cala's House" into deep tech house with some staple dubtechno influences and some as well. Listen to both tracks from this EP released on BLKRTZ and distributed by Kompakt below:

Ezequiel Esley - "Kirone" EP

Red Cup welcomes Argentinian newcomer Ezequiel Esley with his debut record "Kirone". Ezequiel has already received backing from the likes of Mathias Kaden, who referred to his sound as "typical Argentine madness" as well as from the legendary Martin Eyerer. His sound fits in with minimal techno and is dance floor oriented. Check out our favorite tracks from the EP "Blueberry" and "Kirone" below:

Extrawelt - "Neuland" (Robag Wruhme remix)

This wicked "Darkoom Dubs Remixed" EP consisting of remixes by Robag Wruhme and John Selway is highly recommended by Red Cup.   We especially enjoyed Wruhme's remix of Extrawelt's "Neuland", which is in the same vain as his "Thora Vukk" album we loved and posted about recently.  Check out this special release out on Darkroom Dubs, the label run by the Glascovian duo Silicone Soul.  Listen to Wruhme's remix of "Neuland" below:

Roman Flügel - "Song with Blue"

Roman Flügel's new LP "Fatty Folders" contains a gem of a track entitled "Song with Blue" which strikes an incredible balance between organic and electronic sounds.   Piano trickles and strings are combined eloquently with subtle and brushy electronic percussion resulting in a perfect soundtrack for a rainy fall afternoon.  It is September so we highly recommend you listen to "Song with Blue" below:

Video: Actress - "Maze"

Here is a new music video for Actress's "Maze", which is taken from the already approaching seminal 2010 Honest Jon’s album ‘Splazsh’. The video was drirected by Luke Alexander and uses much of the hexagonal shapes of the record’s cover art. Watch it, and get lost in the maze.
