Listen: Actress - "Shock Therapy 101"

Actress dropped a new tune via his twitter account. The track entitled “Shock Therapy 101″ has a more upbeat vibe to it than anything we heard on his 2012 LP R.I.P.  The beat driven track slowly and minimally builds up until the snyths hit and lead us out with the precision timing that the producer has become known for.  

Listen: Rustie – “After Light” Remix (Feat. AlunaGeorge)

Rustie saw his Glass Swords standout “After Light” reach new levels of popularity when sporting company Adidas used it in a commercial for the London Olympics and today its star grows even more courtesy of London pop duo AlunaGeorge. Singer Aluna Francis, provides some vocals and turns “After Light” into a sing-along jam for the remaining summer months.

Back in May we shared something new from UK dub artist SBTRKT, the tune was reported to be part of a forthcoming ep and today we have yet another new tune in the form of “Gloss.” I can’t say with certainty that this tune will be official released as part of the ep but it doesn’t really matter, what does is we got new music from the man and you can hear it now below….

Piano Overlord, aka Prefuse 73,  dropped a tune by the name of  "Aninha" recently. The single officially appears on Aninha Mission, a collection of tracks recorded back in 2004 that never saw the light of day, that is now available via Chocolate Industries. They say good things come with age, what do you think?

"A track I made on a korg es-1 in about 10mins and jammed out for my mate called “Infinite Livez” to freestyle on at a last minute gig/dj set thing in Berlin a while back and I hadn’t eaten much and also had to dj and I’m a shit dj but I just played a bunch of records anyway and Inf’ helped me out by freestyling for me. He’s a nice bloke and a great artist. I just made a cup of tea. Maybe I’ll invite him over."

Balam Acab tweeted a mysterious mediafire link last night which led fans to this….  K.P. & Envyi’s “Shorty Swing My Way” was a big R&B jam for the ladies back in 98.  Balam Acab put his twist on things by slowing down the vocals and beat giving the tune a drugged out vibe.  

Stream: Scuba - Personality LP

Hotflush labelhead and dubstep/techno multi-genrelist Scuba is generous in his streamaways.  Possibly encouraged by how good this record is and confident that people will rush to buy it once they've heard it (we sure did)  Scuba has offered up a full- stream of his third LP "Personality".  A relatively optimistic and feel-good affair this LP is a necessary positive note in troubled times. We may not know much about Madeaux, as  he, she, or they have decided to keep their identity a secret for the time being letting the track “Karma In Reverse” be the talking point. The playful tune has a similar vibe to AraabMuzik in its beats but with a little more whimsy coming in and out of it making for a unique work.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke has remixed SBTRKT’s “Hold On” under the mysterious moniker Sisi Bakbak. The Sisi BakBak remix comes as a B-side on the single version of SBTRKT's original "Hold On", available digitally on February 21 and on May 8 as a limited-edition 12" through XL. Motto Berlin has just turned 3 years old and to celebrate they have asked friends, collaborators and people they admire to put together mixtapes with the idea that they should be played within the context of Bookstores. The first offering comes in the form of a playlist selected by a 2011 favorite of ours, Kuedo. The UK born / Berlin based artist recently released his critically acclaimed debut album Severant on the British label, Planet Mu and if you haven’t heard it already get crackin! Kuedo has curated this playlist entitled ‘Sinking in the Datatank’ specifically with the act of reading in mind, "delving into a hypnotic modern history of avant-garde electronics and rousing soundscapes".
