Burial and Four Tet - "Nova"

Two of our favorite artists join forces once more for yet another collaborative effort that is amazingly even better than the sum of its parts.  After such brilliant tracks as "Moth" and "Ego" (the latter also featuring Thom Yorke), Burial and Four Tet fuse their unique signature sounds on "Nova" which you can stream below.  Hoping for a 12" release soon, probably on Four Tet's Text imprint.

Four Tet - "Moma"

In more Four Tet news, Kieran Hebden has a new track entitled "Moma" that is featured on the "We are the Works in Progress" compilation whose proceeds are going toward the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund and Architecture for Humanity. A quality track for a good cause then.  On "Moma" Four Tet goes for a the tenori-on  dreamy ambient techno sound he developed on his"Ringer" EP.  Listen to the track below:

Floating Points Double Post - "Sais" Music Video and "Shadows" EP Preview

A while back we posted the dub version of Floating Points track "Sais" which was later featured on Four Tet's Fabric Mix.  Now you can watch the music video for the jazzier original created with a max/msp graphical generator that recognizes drum and synth elements in the track. You can also preview what looks to be an excellent jazzy-tech EP entitled "Shadows" by Floating Points below, which will be releasing on Eglo Records on the 21st of this month:

Daphni (aka Caribou) - "Ahora"

On October 31st Caribou, under his Daphni monicker, will be releasing "Ahora" on Amazing Sounds.  The track is founded around an organic techno shuffle similar to Four Tet's latest sounds, but with a subtle eastern influence (listen close) enhancing the characteristic bleeps as well as a hair raising synth croon that is essentially the chorus.  Listen to "Ahora" and its remix by Margot below:

Stream: Four Tet - Fabric Live 59

As we had tipped you off last month, the latest and 59th installment if the prestigious Fabric live series belongs to none other than the versatille and prolific Four Tet.  The mix includes such Red Cup favorites as Burial, Ricardo Villalobos, Floating Points, as well as some exclusive tracks by Four Tet himself (full tracklist after the jump).  As with most of Four Tet's mixes, this one is journey which meanders into many different directions - just the kind of genre bending we love here at Red Cup.  Listen to the entire mix thanks to Self Titled magazine directly at their soundcloud link here or check out the short promo video below:

Red Cup Summer Mix Vol. 1

The time has finally come for Red Cup  to take a 2 week break and do some much needed Greek island hopping.  Times are tough - sprits and budgets are low, yet when the sun and the volume are high everything seems better.  Therefore, we couldn't leave without something special for those who have stopped by and supported Red Cup thus far.

Here it is, our first (in a series?) of summer mixtapes intended to keep you company at the beach, on the way to the beach, on the way home from the beach etc.  In the true spirit of our blog, the mix crosses all genres of electronic music but is cohesive in its summeriness. We hope this will hold you over until we get back.

Thank you for your support and  see you again in two weeks.  Until then, may your cup be red and half-full.  Listen to or download the Red Cup Summer Mix Vol. 1 below:
