Video: José Padilla & Kirsty Keatch - "Helios" (Balam Acab Remix)

Apparently Balam Acab made this remix of "Helios" over a year ago for José Padilla & Kirsty Keatch but it only just came out today via a video. The sound of this one is liquid, you’ll see what I mean once you press play. On a side note apparently combining these three artists essentially equals what I hear as Purity Ring!

Balam Acab tweeted a mysterious mediafire link last night which led fans to this….  K.P. & Envyi’s “Shorty Swing My Way” was a big R&B jam for the ladies back in 98.  Balam Acab put his twist on things by slowing down the vocals and beat giving the tune a drugged out vibe.  

Korallreven ft. Julianna Barwick - "Sa Sa Samoa" (Elite Gymnastics Remix)

Don't expext to hear Julianna Barwick's ethereal 'Sa Sa Samoa' chorus on this Elite Gymnastics remix of the eponymous Korallreven track.  Instead vocal duties are taken over by Whitney Houston with a timely sample from her "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" classic.  The remix borrows from old school rave and breakbeat (remember Acen?) and maintains some piano chords and balearic pads from the original. Bombay Bicycle Club – "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep" (Scuba Remix)

In more Scuba news, the Hotflush labelhead has delivered quite the remix for Bombay Bicycle Club's "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep".  In tune with the music on his Personality LP, the sound is unashamedly big and optimistic yet some of his techno influences creep in a little more on this track.  Listen to the track below:

Radiohead's Thom Yorke has remixed SBTRKT’s “Hold On” under the mysterious moniker Sisi Bakbak. The Sisi BakBak remix comes as a B-side on the single version of SBTRKT's original "Hold On", available digitally on February 21 and on May 8 as a limited-edition 12" through XL. Listen to or download the brand new remix for Fixers' "Iron Deer Dream" by our favorite Greek duo Keep Shelly in Athens.  The end result sounds like a mix between balearic-beat on speed and the Chemical Brothers.  Another different direction for the duo, yet we're glad to hear the staple synth solos are still there.

After a brilliant EP and a massive remix for Bonobo's "Eyes Down", Machinedrum returns with another remix, this time for Gang Colour's "Fancy Restaurant".  On this track Machinedrum combines his signature sound while  dipping into some Metalheadz era D&B breaks. Listen to the track below:

Just when you thought this was over with the release of the comprehensive compilation of all the 12" remixes of tracks from Radiohead's "The King of Limbs", the band unveiled another 12" with new remixes from the artists who had already contributed remixes for the project: Jamie xx, Anstam and Nathan Fake).  Listen to the new remixes below, with Jamie xx's second take on the track "Bloom" being the obvious highlight:

Salva - "Yellowbone" (Shlomo and 2KWTVR remix)

Salva is a Californian producer whose music has been getting a whole lot of much deserved buzz for quite some time now.  His EP "Yellowbone" is releasing today and this remix of the title track by Shlomo and 2KWTVR is a definite highlight.  The track is a reverb drenched slab of electronic goodness filled with chopped vocals (a go-to technique these days) and catchy little synth hooks.  Listen to it below along with another track by Salva called "Komodo", which is also featured on the EP:
