Preview: Shed - The Killer LP

After his remarkable work on Ostgut Ton for his second album "Shedding The Past", the evermorphing Rene Pawlowitz finds a fitting second home on Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label with his new LP "The Killer" which remains in the ambient techno side of his work but introduces a dubstep side for this LP. Preview this much anticipated LP below which will be releasing on the 27th of July:

Martyn - "Red Dancers"

A few weeks ago, the Berlin based duo Modeselektor revealed that a track by Clark would feature on their second Modeselektion compilation.  Today they revealed yet another track to be featured on the compilation (also to receive a separate split 12" release with a new Modeselektor track) by Martyn.  Preview this dubstep/techno banger below:

Δkkord - "Δkkord001" EP

The secretive duo Δkkord from the outskirts of Manchester just released their debut EP Akkord001 and it is already being described as a mix between Burial and dBridge.  Intrigued?
Preview the EP below and watch as your compulsive consumer side kicks in.   Their passion for art and design, minimalist aesthetics and mathematics shines through in their music and visual style.  The 12" is releasing in a limited white edition with a hand stamped sleeve and sticker. Rustie feat. Nightwave - "Surph" (Single Version)

We've already written extensively about "Surph", our favorite track on Rustie's debut LP Glass Swords, yet the single release has received some tweaking that brings Nightwave's voice out of autotune obscurity and into the limelight resulting in a poppier but also more organic vibe.  Listen to the new version of "Surph" below:

Dark Sky - "Totem"

We immediately fell in love with this catchy lil' bass number by Dark Sky to be included on their Black Rainbows EP out on March 26th on Black Acre Records.  "Totem" is a shuffly track with infectious synth stabs and bassline bouncing off each other throughout the duration of the song.  Listen to it below:

Bombay Bicycle Club – "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep" (Scuba Remix)

In more Scuba news, the Hotflush labelhead has delivered quite the remix for Bombay Bicycle Club's "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep".  In tune with the music on his Personality LP, the sound is unashamedly big and optimistic yet some of his techno influences creep in a little more on this track.  Listen to the track below:

Stream: Scuba - Personality LP

Hotflush labelhead and dubstep/techno multi-genrelist Scuba is generous in his streamaways.  Possibly encouraged by how good this record is and confident that people will rush to buy it once they've heard it (we sure did)  Scuba has offered up a full- stream of his third LP "Personality".  A relatively optimistic and feel-good affair this LP is a necessary positive note in troubled times. Lone - "Crystal Caverns 1991"

Lone's "Crystal Caverns 1991" constitutes another new direction in the ever-morphing sound of the R&S artist.  While recent releases and his DJ sets have been hinting at a newfound love for an old school rave anthem aesthetic and his previous LP "Emerald City Tracks" had such element peaking under the thick gauze of technicolor BoCeqsue atmospheres, this track off his upcoming LP "Galaxy Garden" (on the 5th of July on R&S) doesn't hold back on this theme in the least.  Essentially, this is an old school rave track made with modern production tools and a contemporary feel for tempo and composition.  Listen to the explosive "Crystal Caverns 1991" below:

Skream - "One Take..."

Dubstep pioneer and current poster boy of the genre just posted a track that will never be finished due to a software crash during the production phase.  It could be why it sounds so stripped back, yet it seems that this accident worked to the track's benefit.  The classic Skream shuffle is there, yet it's a more minimal affair in comparison to his previous work. Listen below:

As we told you earlier this week, Burial's brand new EP Kindred is out.  We'd already given you a sneak peak at EP track "Ashtray Wasp" and along with the title track there was mention of a B-side entitled "Loner." Well we now we have the visuals for said B-side. Check em' out below…

Preview: Burial - "Kindred" EP

As you've probably already heard, Burial's brand new EP Kindred is out in digital form only and available to preview and order over at the Hyperdub wesbite.  We'd already given you a sneak peak at EP track "Ashtray Wasp" and along with the title track and the other B-side "Loner" the EP shows Burial resorting to his signature sound palette and sample base, yet he's definately trying something new here in terms of melody and structure.  As with any new Burial EP, all the songs here are meticulously crafted and deserve your attention.  Can't wait for the vinyl release.

This double LP by Monolake released on Imbalance soon to hit the shelves, is a long awaited  LP that is bound to turn heads. This recording is richly enhanced with organic found-sound elements including metal plates, bells, and even Henke's own voice.  Charged with drum & bass and dubstep influences yet drenched in a techno aesthetic, this release further builds on Monolake's signature sound:

Richard Devine - "RISP" EP

Released on Detroit Underground, Richard Devine's "RISP" EP comes in a screen printed sleeve. His tracks are sequenced on the Euro rack modular and Elektron Octatrack machines and also includes a structural techno remix by Drumcell. This experimental dubstep and techno influenced EP is a must. Listen below:

Member of the Jazz Gangsters, Denizo aka Denis The7notes releases "Shaded 02" on the Shaded label, an instrumental journey with break beats, dubstep  and jazz influences.  Preview these tracks below whose mood and titles sound like they are influenced by today's global economic downturn.

The LA based label Brainfeeder headed by Flying Lotus has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the field of beat-centered electronic music.  With a roster featuring the likes of Martyn, Lorn, Gaslamp Killer, Thundercat and Lapalux the imprint has remained on the cutting edge of the scene delivering fresh and new ideas on every release.  Having just received the label-of-the-year award through Gilles Peterson's show, Brainfeeder released a compilation available for free download here (in exchange for your e-mail address) with songs from the label's roster for your listening pleasure.  The comp also features a previously unreleased Lapalux track from his upcoming album. 

Guido - FACT Mix 314

We recently talked about Guido's return in the form of his double A-side EP on State of Joy and were very excited when we heard that the folks over at FACT Mag invited the Bristol based dubstep producer for a second FACT mix. Gang Colours - Fancy Restaurant (MachineDrum remix)

After a brilliant EP and a massive remix for Bonobo's "Eyes Down", Machinedrum returns with another remix, this time for Gang Colour's "Fancy Restaurant".  On this track Machinedrum combines his signature sound while  dipping into some Metalheadz era D&B breaks. Listen to the track below:

Pinch & Photek - Acid Reign (Pinch's Dubplate Mix)

Pinch, Tectonic labelhead a known fan of collaborations, and the legendary Photek who recently collaborated with Kuru on the excellent "Fountainhead", joined forces for the massive "Acid Reign".  Huge bass, big beats and a swingy slow tempo as expected with the addition of a catchy TB-303 lick.  Stream the track below:
