Listen: Gold Panda - "4"

UK producer Gold Panda has let loose another random instrumental titled "4." Give it a listen below, and here's his explanation of how the track came to be...

"A track I made on a korg es-1 in about 10mins and jammed out for my mate called “Infinite Livez” to freestyle on at a last minute gig/dj set thing in Berlin a while back and I hadn’t eaten much and also had to dj and I’m a shit dj but I just played a bunch of records anyway and Inf’ helped me out by freestyling for me. He’s a nice bloke and a great artist. I just made a cup of tea. Maybe I’ll invite him over."

Gold Panda - "Thailand Chord Droner"

A short but sweet new track by Gold Panda was posted on his soundcloud page recently.  Not much info around this (except that it's an "mpc fuk about") which is actually refreshing.  "Thailand Chord Droner" is a glitch-looptronica track that is worth 2 minutes of your time. Listen below:

Luke Abbott - "Brazil" (Gold Panda remix)

We missed this track which was brought to light around a month ago, yet we still thought we shoudl bring it to your attention.  Gold Panda is a known Red Cup favorite and there hasn't been a track of his date that we haven't enjoyed. The same applies with this remix for Luke Abbott's "Brazil".  As is also evidenced by another relatively recent track "MPB", Gold Panda is playing more with bell and tin textures.  Listen to the track below:

Watch: Gold Panda - "Marriage" Live

We are renound Gold Panda fans here at Red Cup and have been so since his very first releases.  On the latest issue (3-11) of the excellent Slices Magazine we caught a brief glimpse into the mindset of the British artist, known for his modesty and for being soft-spoken, in which he states that performing live was never part of the plan but developed out of necessity.  We're perplexed by this because Gold Panda's live performances number among the most intriguing one-man electronic music sets with many elements reconstructed and well-adapted for the live environment.  Watch him perform "Marriage" live in London this past October below and you'll see what we mean.  Don't forget to check out his DJ-Kicks mix as well, which also demostrates his unique DJing skills as well:
