Warp Records Triple Post - New music from Squarepusher and Clark and the Battles Remixes

On today's triplet of new goodies from the classic electronic music label we will not be discussing the rumors regarding a new Boards of Canada double album.  Instead we will talk about Squarepusher's upcoming album details and live show, Clark's latest tune off his upcoming LP and the Battles' remix album.

Squarepusher has disappeared for while (no shocker there) since his latest project with Shoebaleader One.  We're extremely excited to hear that he's back with a new album entitled "Ufabulum" releasing in mid-May, which according the the man himself will be pure electronic (no bass guitar? doubt it), melodic and aggressive. We're also glad that the Daft Punkesque mask he dawned on his previous collaborative project is still around.  Listen to a tiny snippet of what's to come below.  For more details on live performances revolving around the new album go here.

Up next is the latest track to appear from Clark's upcoming LP "Iradelphic".  We've already posted another album track "Com Touch", and now you can listen "The Pining Pt 2" below as well.  This track is still heavy in the beat section, yet the song is even more melodic with vocal elements that are introduced in this way for the first time on a Clark track:

Our last bit of new is the exciting announcement with regard to a remix album of Battles' Dross Glop LP based on the relevant 12" releases.  Contributors include Hyperdub labelhead Kode 9, Shabazz Palaces, Silent Servant, Hudson Mohawke and more.  The album will be releasing in mid April.  Our favorite of the few that have seen the light of day so far is the remix of "Sweetie & Shag" by The Field.  Listen to it below:

Stream: Blondes - self-titled LP (and album track "Wine" download)

Blondes debut self-titled LP, which you can stream in its entirety over at Drowned in Sound sits somewhere between the glitch-loop melodic techno of The Field and the sheets of ambient sonic textures of Walls.  The duo consisting of Sam Haar and Zach Steinman are really offering up something special here and we for one can't wait to get our hands on it.  The double CD (second CD features remixes by the likes of Andy Stott, Laurel Halo, Teengirl Fantasy and more) will be releasing on February 7th on RVNG and you can pre-order it here.  You can also listen to or download the brilliant album track "Wine" below:

Mark Van Hoen - "The Revenant Diary" LP

We're happy to announce that the legendary Mark Van Hoen will be releasing his his fifth solo album "The Revenant Diary" this time on Editions Mego records.  The founding member of Seefeel, mastermind behind Locust and Slowdive collaborator knows how to make noise.  His distinct sound is based around his mastery of tone, detail, harmonics and melody...a celebration of the potential of electronic music and an accomplishment in sound scultping.  According to the press release the basis of this album was recorded on "4-track tape, using a minimal set-up, reminiscent of his first early '80s musical adventures as a young teenager."  Aside from fans of the aforementioned projects, this is also music for fans of Boards of Canada, Bibio, The Field, The Orb etc.  As you can tell by the preview below this is bound to be one of the albums to look out for in 2012. We can't wait.

Walls - "Hang Four" (The Field's macarena remix)

While we made our affection for the Walls' sophomore long player "Coracle" very clear, we still aren't completely convinced The Field's latest album "Looping State of Mind", especially in comparison to his previous work, of which were are huge fans.  This temporary opinion aside (some albums take longer to get into), this stellar 'macarena' remix of the Walls track "Hang Four" by The Field is a worthy dreamy loop-based techno adventure, similar to his previous chop of the Junior Boy's "Banana Ripple".  Listen to it here:

Run DMT - "Montana Mountain Groan"

Loop-based lo-fi drone music might not be everyone's cup of tea but this track by Run DMT reminds us of a Dilla conscious psychedelic take on the sound of The Field by a fan of Boards of Canada and Animal Collective.  It might sound over the top to be throwing such huge names around for a song that is essentially a 4 second loop on repeat with the subtlelest of variations, but that is a testament to the artist's succinct production.  Listen to the aptly named "Montana Mountain Groan" below:
